The Packers would punch back after trailing for the first time on Sunday night. The Lions running back was a member of the Packers for the previous three seasons before Green Bay decided to part ways with him this offseason, and he had his pay back in Week 18. The Lions offense came to life in the third quarter when Goff hit Kalif Raymond on a 43 yard bomb that set up a Jamaal Williams one yard touchdown. Former Packer spoils GB’s postseason hopes Jared Goff marched the Lions down the field and Marvin Badgely chipped into the lead as the Packers went to the break up 9-6. The Packers would add two more Mason Crosby field goals and looked on the verge of extending their 9-3 lead late in the first half when Aaron Jones fumbled as Green Bay was driving. The Packers got the first points of the game on the opening drive of the evening, but then a turn over on downs deep in their own territory on the next possession allowed the Lions to tie the game up at 3-3 midway through the first quarter. Both teams were kept out of the end zone as the game turned in to a battle of field goals early on. Neither team came out looking too impressive in the first half, as both offenses sputtered throughout the two quarters. That meant the Packers still had a chance at a playoff spot, but all the Lions could do was ruin the night of a team that has ruined so many of their nights over the last decade or two. Seahawks on to the playoffsĪ little more than a half hour before kick off in Green Bay the Lions watched the Jumbotron at Lambeau Field helplessly as the Seattle Seahawks ended their chances of making a run to the playoffs with an overtime game winning field goal to take down the Los Angeles Rams. Former Packer, Jamaal Williams had two touchdowns in the 20-16 knockout victory in the Frozen Tundra. The Detroit Lions had their hearts broken pregame, but still managed to spoil their divisional rivals chances to get to the playoffs when they beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night.
